My beautiful friends
Hope you all are doing well
As IPL is approaching at the end of their playoffs. Let’s take a look at the teams which are out from qualifying race and looking for some redemption and taking some positive for next year.
One of the three teams which are knocked out for this from qualifying race are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujrat Lions and Delhi Daredevils
Today we are going to talk about Royal Challengers Bangalore journey. Reason behind their standing on points table. Why the last year finalist couldn’t been able to make this year playoffs.
Injuries has given RCB this year a major set back than any year. Mitchell Starc ( their premium bowler ) pulled out for whole season just a month before competition. Kl Rahul ruled out because of his shoulder injury for whole season 10 which was quite a dent in their batting lineup as he was a star last year for RCB in opening the innings and giving them a fiercey start.
Yes..you read it right . Batting which was their forte for all those season and done extremely well to perform and win matches for them has been the cause of RCB this season down fall. They have struggled to reach the 160+ mark in this season which was quite easy for them in last couple of years. They have only make thrice scores of 160 or above. This can tell you exactly how their season has gone so far.
Last year both Virat kohli and AB De Villiers together had made a combined runs which were above 1600+ runs . This year RCB’s whole team has struggled to reach the same runs combined whole as a team which is quite unbelievable.
3. Big Stars doesn’t make it count
It is extremely rare this day when you can Virat Kohli has been failed in this series. But this IPL is something which he would definitely like to forget as quickly as possible both as a batsmen and captain. He has made 250 from 9 matches which is pretty low from his standard.
Another big name who haa failed this season to make it big and get his team over the line is AB De Villiers. Mr 360 start his season with a match winning knock after his comeback from injury. But couldn’t find his groove after that. 216 runs from 9 matches is pretty average from their standard.
Big man Jamaican star Chris Gayle also fails to make any mark this season. Unlike another season he hasn’t played any significant knocks which helps team. That’s why he found himself often dropped from team as well.
Middle order inconsistent performance was also a reason for RCB batting woes this season.
This were some of the reasons of Team RCB downfall this season. Now look at some positive from RCB this season. Something which can they look and move forward to next season of IPL.
Yes.. Once again you read it right. Bowling was a bright side for RCB team this year. All of them was bowling well as a team. Bowling doing well and batting falls is extremely opposite how RCB team structure. Yuzuvendra Chahal once again doing well for them as he was doing for past couple of years.
Pawan Negi was a great addition in RCB team. Although we all know what he is capable of and can do much better as well. After sitting past year on bench waiting for his turn to play, this year he make sure to make it count whenever he gets an opportunity and he surely does well.
Having said all of these RCB is the team which has provided most entertainment to people at home or stadium by their big scores and close encounter. A bad year doesn’t make them weak. We hope they came next year blazing and provide entertainment which they are known for.
They have won 2 matches and one washed off match which makes their 5 points from 13 matches . They are currently sitting on bottom of the points table and they will end their campaign there as well.
They have one more match remained to play in playoffs. They would surely like to end the season on high. Let’s see what’s they do un their last match for this IPl season 10
That’s all for today. Hope you like this article.
Next Time we will look at other two teams which are out of playoffs race and trying to find out the reason behind it.
Till Next Time,
